Over the weekend we headed up to Estes Park to visit The Stanley Hotel. This Historic Hotel opened in 1909 catering to upper middle class Americans. It is now widely known as the backdrop for the movie The Shining and investigated on the show Ghost Adventures. While walking around the property, my older boys were looking for ghosts but unfortunately didn't find anything.
The Hotel and it's surroundings are absolutely beautiful. There is a garden out front with views of the Rockies and the lobby of the hotel takes you back in time. If you're ever in the area, we highly recommend stopping there to take a look around. My oldest son would love to go back and stay the night.
