I'm going to make these 7 full days as short as possible. :)
One of our first sight seeing adventures was to check out Waipio Lookout.
We stopped at Tex's for some amazing pineapple filled malasadas. If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend this place!
Of course you can't go to Hawaii and not visit a few falls. We visited Anaka Falls which had a fun and long walk to get to. It was absolutely gorgeous.
The view from the parking lot:
In all it's glory:
Then we made it over to Rainbow Falls. Just as beautiful.
Sean searched for the best beach on the island and came across this secluded beach. We had to hike 45 minutes over lava rock to get to it but man, it was perfect. We had the entire place to ourselves and we all enjoyed the warm water and the quietness that it offered. There was even a cool hut that someone had built that the boys played in. I was thankful for the shade it provided them.
I've never been to a black sand beach before so this was really cool. It is a favorite breeding spot for sea turtles. I was so excited that we got to see 6 sea turtles swimming in the water there.
Hawaii's Volcano National Park was very cool. It's kind of amazing what is happening there. It's something you must see if you are there.
We also got to walk through the Thurston Lava Tub.
We also went to Kona twice. Just for the shaved ice. So good!
We had the best time and can't wait to go back in a few years.
