We love our donuts over here (well except my husband).
We'd have them all the time except they aren't that good for you. Who knew? :)
While shopping around Target I spotted the donut pan for baked donuts. I didn't buy it. Then every time I went to Target I passed it and let out a sigh. I wanted it but would I really use it? Then one shopping shopping trip I just said screw it. For $12 I could make donut shaped things and smile.
Hence the banana bread donut! It's not really a donut dough but I had everything on hand to make banana bread so I went with it. Here is my banana bread recipe to check out.
I made it just like the recipe. I sprayed my donut pan with non-stick spray, filled each cup half way and baked the dounts for about 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
Once out of the oven allow them to cool for a few minutes then place them on a cooling rack that has wax or parchment paper underneath.
Now it's time to make the glaze!
What you need:
4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
2 tablespoons of milk
1 cup of powder sugar
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
Directions:
Place your butter in a small saucepan on low to medium heat. Cook the butter for 10-15 minutes. It will start turning brown. Make sure to mix it so it doesn't burn at the bottom. Pour the browned butter in a bowl along with the other ingredients and mix.
Now take your donut upside down and carefully dip it into the glaze. Return it to the cooling rack to dry. Then enjoy!
