Handprint Spider

This is a quick and easy craft to do with your kids and makes such a cute Halloween decoration.  It's another craft I did when I worked in childcare.

What you need:
-paper
-paint (purple, orange, brown or black)
-scissors and tape
-sharpie or googly eyes
-string or yarn

Directions:
Paint the palm of your child's hand and 4 fingers (I leave out the thumb).  Press down on a piece of paper.  Paint their hand again and press down on the paper again, making sure the palm part overlaps, to look like a spider.  Allow to fully dry.  Use a sharpie to make eyes or glue on googly eyes. Cut out the spider and tape on a long piece of string.

Then hang them up!  Make a few extra to give to grandparents!

A fun thing to do: Write their name and the year on the back of each spider.  Every October make a new spider to hang up and see how their little hands grow.  You will eventually have a little spider family.
